Child Find Alberta would not be able to do what we do without our amazing volunteers, the heart of CFA.
During 2008 and 2009 our dedicated volunteers contributed 5,101 hours of their time assisting with office administration work, poster distribution, educational presentations, fundraising, fingerprinting and special events!

"I've been asked numerous times how I came to volunteer for Child Find. Many years ago, I was laid off from the oil industry and working at an answering service until I could get back to my real career. I was working the late shift one night when a call came through for Child Find from the RCMP in Halifax. They had found a child and wanted to speak with the on-call person with CFA so they could arrange to bring the little boy home. After I put the call through I told the other folks working the switchboard and we had to put all our calls on hold for a couple of minutes and have a little cry. We were so happy because we knew that within a couple of days that child would be home where he belonged. I thought to myself that I would volunteer for that organization because they do amazing work. So I did...starting in about 1997.
I have done countless fingerprinting clinics and when I first volunteered I was on the special events committee. I like answering parent's questions and educating them a little about keeping their children safe and I like meeting up with other volunteers that I have gotten to known over the years. But mostly I am happy to know that any child we fingerprint and give the All About Me ID booklet to his/her parents is a little safer."
